The Matrix trilogies are my favourite movies (I'm not counting tP movies here!!). *spolier for third movie*

So I didn't get the ending I mean they are back to where they were in the begining! People are still trapped in the Matrix (ok so people who want to get out can but) babies are still being harvested! I don't see how they can tolerate babies being born into the Matrix and yet the machines can't do without people (they're their enegry source) so as I see it there is no way, realistically, they can co-existent... Thoughts? Anything else to add?

;D ;D Jarod: "How's life treating you?" Miss Parker: "Like he caught me in bed with his wife!" I like this joke. It always makes me laugh, just reading it is enough ;D Ruby: Whats the name of the episode its from? TEXTWhich babies? Its true people are stil trapped, but you have to remember that not all people know that they live in the matrix. If Morpheus and company continue their work and tell more people about the matrix, then there will be more that will leave. Soon everyone will know. All the matrix movies were great despite of what critics may say(hated 2). The best scene in the 3. movie was the fight in rain scene. ;D there were all differnet kinds of rain

Ruby: Whats the name of the episode its from? I don't know! , if anyone could tell me I would love to know! As for the babies: the babies that are harvested in the fields "Humans are no longer born, but grown". And if there is no one left in the matrix... then there is no one is left in those towers and their bodies are no longer used as batteries and therefore the Machines no longer have their enegry source....

The dilemma of the babies and the people remaining in the Matrix is briefly addressed at the end when the Architect talks to the Oracle in the park.
He says something about it not being a permanent solution, that he will be back, and the Oracle answers that maybe it is enough and when the Architect does come back, she will be waiting.
Was anyone else repulsed by the references to Christianity in the final scenes with Neo? I've been raised Catholic, so I'm not harping on religion. I just thought that this trilogy was... i guess bigger than that. The movie was about believing in the impossible, standing up for yourself, and making decisions that will affect many people. These are universal ideas, and to show Neo lying in the Machine City with his arms outstretched, as though on a cross, and then rising and being taken into the light as a savior -- it just seemed like the writers were trying to make it too neat, like they were answering all of the remaining questions by portraying his final moments in a Christ-like fashion.

About the first point I agree but it still doesn't give much of a satisfying endings (coz it wasn't one!). The people of Zion waited for ages for the chosen one, Neo, as he was suppose to fix things. A climatic and world altering fight occurs and at the end of it... nothing's changed!! For the second point: I don't agree... I didn't see it as a reference or imitation of christianity. The light and the posture of Neo are more than christian symbols, a lot of symbols are universal and are not only made to represent one section of our socitey... *shrug* that's the way I saw it anyway when I watched it (and believe me I *would* be replused if I caught over the top christian references). But if they the W. Brothers did intend it as an imitation of christ (and that would ruin the movie for me ) maybe they just used symbology that almost everyone would have an familar association with. I know throughout the movie they have many references to different things, often biblical references, I just took it as references that would give the movie depth and wasn't intended to turn it into a christian movie... If anyone is interested in the Philosophical and religious meanings or notions brought up in the Matrix their offical website has lots of articles under the heading Philospohy. One in particular is "Wake up! Gnosticism and Buddhism in the Matrix". whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/BTW I've only briefly glanced through them so I am definately not an authority here!

I finally got around to making my own Matrix boards. I think once they gain more members it'll be more fun.
