The original CSI is good. There are way too many Law & Order shows.

The reason that there are so many shows about American law and justice is that the crime rate in the US is increasin exponentially. It has been predicted that the number of jobs in the criminal justice field will triple. I watch the original CSI on Thursday nights and love it (though not as much as tP ). I think the writers did a great job creating diverse characters without delving into the characters' backgrounds or personal lives. This is quite the opposite of the Pretender, and while it works, there will never be a show that rivals the Pretender when it comes to character development. Emily

MY problem with NYPB Blue and Law and Order is this:
You can't pick the show up halfway through and know what's going on. That's why I like the Pretender and Profiler. Each episode has a story to it and you get a fair idea of what the main story is.

My problem with the Law and Order shows is it runs by a formula; there is a crime committed in the first scene, then it's credits, cops, they investigate the crimes, there's couple of suspects, cops solve crime, at the end everything is the same with the cops as the beginning, they don't change... well that's bascially it anyway. The only Law and Order I can stand is Criminal Intent (Which I actually kind of like...)

Over break, I took my little brother to the Science Museum and there was this exhibit called CSI: Crime Scene Insects.
It was all about forensic entomology and the curator of the exhibit was the forensic entomologist that Grissom's character was based on. This guy helps out on the show as an expert advisor.
There were a lot of examples of cases where insects came into play. Most of them had been used on CSI (i.e. the one where the hiker drowns in the middle of the desert; the one where the landlord stashed his wife's body in the hot water heater and then at the end he tells Grissom that he killed her because she nagged him and Grissom looks at him like he's crazy and says "she nagged you?" and then the episode ended)
Anyway, it was really cool and if the exhibit comes to a museum near you, check it out.

Its really happening they are making CSI New York They are destroying CSI. When there are many CSI shows, people are going to get tired of it. If CSI: New York is also as successful as CSI: Las Vegas and Miami, what will stop them from making one in L. A and in others places.
